Where Your Passion Meets Your Profession

Becoming a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) means turning your passion into a profession and making a lasting impact on future aviators. You will spend your days teaching student pilots to become more proficient in their craft, while refining your own skills and logging flight hours. At Riggin Flight Service, CFIs bring a high standard of conduct, execution and desire to learn while training students.

Student-First Training

At Riggin Flight Service we have more than 30 training airplanes; a team of on-site, licensed A&P Mechanics; an on-site Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE) and a PSI Testing Center, which provides our students and instructors with a seamless training experience.

CFI Training  Certified Flight Instructor Instrument (CFII) Multi-Engine Instructor (MEI)
To complete your initial CFI training we recommend you contact Venture North Aviation or Lakes Area Aviation. CFI students and their initial training provider are responsible for the CFI sign-offs.

Riggin Flight Service is here to assist you with continuing instructor training with CFII and MEI courses.

At Riggin Flight Service, the CFII course builds on previous instructor and instrument training. You’ll become a more effective communicator who can confidently teach new students how to fly in varying weather conditions. It also helps you build time for logging your own flight hours.

You’ll spend about 15 days flying in one of our Cherokee 140s with a Garmin 430 WAHS installed.

Through Riggin Flight Service’s MEI training, you’ll learn to instruct up-and-coming aviators seeking to broaden the range of aircraft they can fly by adding a multi-engine rating to their existing FAA Flight Instructor certificate.

In return, you will boost your own skills and log more flight hours.

MEI training requires an existing multi-engine rating and 15 hours working as a Pilot in Command. Once onsite you will train in our Piper Apache, equipped with a Garmin 430W WAHS. Most students complete MEI training in about 10 days.

At Riggin Flight Service, we believe in celebrating the sweet successes and accomplishments of students and instructors.
