Flying under Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) allows you to explore the thrill of learning to read and interpret instruments accurately.
While Private Pilots are limited to flying under visual flight rules (VFR), learning to fly under instrument flight rules makes flying more adventurous. An Instrument Rating lets you fly in a broader range of weather conditions, relying on your instruments rather than just visual cues.
Career pilots, even with today’s technologically advanced flight decks, are required to maintain instrument proficiency in case of emergency.
Student-Focused Training
Our instrument rating course includes 40 hours of flying in one of our Cherokee 140s with a Garmin 430 WAHS navigation installed.
An instrument-rated pilot can forgo referencing the ground and horizon for navigation under low-visibility conditions. When training full-time, our course takes approximately four to six weeks.
